Memorial Day Weekend is one of the biggest sales events of the year in most retail stores. Besides Black Friday, it could be the most universally used time of the year for stores to heavily discount their prices to get customers in the door.
Furniture stores and mattress retailers will drop the price to one of the lowest levels of the year on Memorial Day Weekend. Your newspaper is probably full of those tacky ads with an American flag built into the layout advertising “The lowest prices of the year.”
This is the best time of the year to get the cheapest mattress, but you should still do some homework on the products before you make any purchases. Make sure wherever you buy your mattress offers a sleep trial if you need to buy something quickly for whatever reason. If you find out the mattress isn’t the one you wanted or it doesn’t give you the best rest possible, you would be able to trade it in for a full refund or an exchange.
Sometimes mattress retailers will try to offload their inferior products on Memorial Day to try and make a sale. If you have a smart phone on you, you can quickly look up a particular bed by the model number to find customer reviews of the mattresses. Don’t settle for anything less than you need to.
You’ll also be able to find a lot of discount mattresses online, not just in retail stores. All of the major brands like Sealy, Sleepys and Tempurpedic along with smaller companies have sales going on for the holiday weekend. From my experience, you will usually find more discounts and cheaper prices from smaller companies. Do a Better Business Borough check on the smaller companies to make sure they have a reliable product. Also make sure they have the 30, 60 or 90 day sleep trial as well.
